Case Study – Stentys
Situation: When Gonz Issenmann initially contacted RTA, Stentys had one employee, no proof of concept in humans, very little seed funding, and a CEO with no previous experience in leading a company.
Analysis: It would be very difficult to stimulate attention for a private company based in Paris that had no hard evidence that its technology would be safe and effective in humans, nor did it have evidence of a market for its technology.
Strategy: Stentys was repositioned from being a “bifurcation” stent company to a “heart attack” stent company with the world’s first and only “self-apposing” stent to treat heart attacks, a $2+ billion market opportunity.
Results: Stentys completed a successful IPO on the NYSE Euronext Paris stock exchange in October 2010, raising nearly $32 million.
Bottom line: RTA has been Stentys’ PR/IR firm since 2006, and remains a highly valued RTA client.
